Greater Wellington would like your views on the Baring Head/
Ōrua-pouanui Draft Amendment.
This amendment sets out the direction for managing the Baring Head/Ōrua-pouanui section of East Harbour Regional Park over the next 10 years. It is the result of research, discussion with agencies and interested members of the community over the past year.
The Draft Amendment contains the specific policies about biodiversity, heritage, visitor services, land management and activities allowed in the park as well as outlining what the projected future changes are for park development. Here is copy of the draft amendment. Also a summary brochure.
This Draft Amendment when finalised will become part of the Greater Wellington Parks Network Plan (which is the management plan for all of our regional parks and forests). When reading the Draft Amendment it is important to understand it in the context of the Parks Network Plan which covers the overall management framework and general policies for the network of parks. This can be accessed from our website: www.gw.govt.nz/greater-wellington-parks-network-plan.
Submissions close on Friday 18th May 4.00pm.
