NZHGPA AGM - 3,4 September. Christchurch
The national AGM is this year being held in Christchurch. Wellington is entitled to 2 delegates. Travel subsidy is $320 per person, based on the cheapest airfare available at the time. Following a short discussion, Kris and Grant are nominated.
PROPOSED REMIT (from the Wellington club):  That, on behalf of the NZHGPA, the Wellington club have a professionally drafted "Memorandum Of Understanding" . (Full details on WHGPC newsletter website)
Proposed: Kris, Sec Ian Bowie. Carried.

NOTICE OF PG LEAGUE
Intention to hold a PG league Wellington Anniversary weekend, Jan 21, 22, 23. Kris main organiser.

PAEKAKARIKI
Possible option suggested as alternative launch below airstrip. Kris to contact new landowner. (After some consideration the landowner decided to decline permission due to concerns about potential liability)

Lookout Launch developments:  Permission has been given by Nga Uruora for the club to occupy some space near the lookout.  A letter has been sent to the NZ Railways Corporation seeking a licence to occupy.  This will cost $56.50 a year.  (As at 30 July no response had been received from RailCorp)

Lloyd Cole to leave for the UK for 6 months. Suggestion that Laurie Ross takes over as site manager in his absence? Last weekend, 10.7.05, Lloyd approached Mrs Perkins to ask for permission to carry out maintenance on the weatherstation. He received a very abrupt response. (Was hung up on). After trying again and saying exactly who he was, and that all he was doing was asking for access to the station, she relented, and responded a little better. Please do not approach the Perkins family in any way to seek permission. Steer clear of their property, including the track to the airstrip. The situation is delicate to say the least.

Kris to write letter to Gary Steele regards continuing use of prohibited launch.

WARRANTS OF FITNESS
We received letters to the SO's from Barbara Rooke, NZHGPA Administration regarding a lack of returned WOF forms and therefore a large number of members presumably with wings that don't carry a current WOF. It is becoming increasingly important to see that maintenance is done as required to satisfy CAA. Not to mention keeping the equipment in an airworthy condition. Following reviews on HG and PG members, only a small number of active members show as still not current.

RESERVE REPACKS
Subject raised regards the need to do repacks - Grant to check with Kane Stevenson re the availability of the Kelson school hall.

Parafly Automatic carabinersfrom AustriAlpin banned from any further use.  See NZHGPA Forum for more information.

TEXTING NOTIFICATION
Discussion regards the possible use of group texting, possibly to current financial members, possibly to current WOF members only to advise of flying on the day. Aimed at mainly letting the newer guys know that its on, and where its on. System to be investigated, funding to be investigated.

MAKARA WINDFARM
Possibility of access to new sites on west or SW coast. More info next meeting.

VICTORIA PARK
CAA have given use conditional use of this area. (See main newsletter for more information)

MACALISTER PARK
A letter has been sent to Airways New Zealand seeking permission to use Macalister Park for launch and landing training. (A message in midy July indicated that a formal response would be recieved in mid August).

FINANCE
Grant to advise of financial standing of club at next meeting, in order to advise the national association of intended WHGPC subs at the AGM in September.

Which are:
Superbank     balance as at 30 June 2005 :      $ 3,292.73
Westpac      balance as  at 1   July 2005:        $ 1,234.25

Last years proposed budget showed us just making a gain of $30 based on current membership subs of $35, and based on expected expenditure. At this stage, I don't know of any surprises. Touchwood!

Meeting closed 9.30pm. whew!

Grant Tatham
Secretary
