Paekakariki Weather Station
The weather station is currently out of action - as the solar panel
has been stolen! : (  Lloyd has bought a replacement panel, and is
currently load testing it.  Installation will probably occur on the
w/e of 10/11 June.  Several people have volunteered to help lower
and raise the pole - thanks.

Paekakariki Life Style Block
2.3 hectares of land above the Lookout is for still sale through Harcourts

Attitudes, Airmanship and Accidents
The CAA ran and excellent seminar on "Attitudes, Airmanship and
Accidents".  The full text of the Vector article on this subject should be compulsory reading.

Club UHF Radios
If anyone knows the whereabouts of a couple of the club radios, could they let Grant know please? Not that he wants them back, but it'd be nice to know where they are!  We suspect they are taped to someones harness!

Found:
1 black glider tie. 1 1/2 inch wide, pretty long, plastic cam-lock on one end.
Left by the north launch at Kourarau.  Talk to Grant.

Waikato Paragliding Nationals - November
The Nationals are going to be based in Rotorua - details

Local flights
Four hangies were noted dodging the showers at Paekakariki on Sunday 28 May.

Heard through the grapevine - group of hardy souls flew the coast in early May, and a certain pilot from this club had a very close look at the fauna in a valley where he shouldn't have been. Perhaps he thought the newly purchased glider he was flying had the performance to attain stable flight in rotor??  (from experience Kris can strongly recommend against flying in rotor!)

Flying quote
If riding in an airplane is flying, then riding in a boat is swimming.
If you want to experience the element, then get out of the vehicle.
