Minutes of the meeting on Tuesday 6 June 2006.

Apologies
Apologies - none.
Members present - 14

General Business
Paekakariki
Lloyd Cole has aquired a solar panel at a very reasonable price of $107 to replace the one presumed stolen from the weather station. Working Bee organised for the coming weekend to mount the panel, and get the station back on line.

Mangaroa Valley.
Kris to contact Mr Gillies to discuss options (if any) of retaining our landing areas in the valley.

Western Lake
1. South-eastern launch round the corner just before the Muka Muka River is now out of bounds. The farm manager requests everyone stays off the plateau. There is now a sign erected at the base of the hill warning not to proceed.
2. At the time of the meeting, the planned airstrip adjacent to the lodge was not quite operational. At the time of writing this (2.7.06) it is. From this point on it will be necessary to advise the lodge we intend to fly, and request information of aircraft operations. Contact the manager(s) on 06 307 7581 - Nico or Christy. It is also still necessary to make contact with the farm manager - Dave and Dianne Walsh on 06 307 7570, or 027 248 7430. Yes - two calls.
It is also imperative for obvious reasons that no flights are made east of the stream, east of the immediate launch cliff, into the approach path.

Kourarau
New owners have taken possesion of the top of Kourarau, and also the landing property has been leased. Grant to contact new owners.

Funding application
Dennis Green, as principal organiser has approached the Wellington club to apply for funding to assist the running of the 2007 Hang Gliding Nationals.
Proposal - that the club apply to the Lion Foundation, NZ Community Trust, Century Foundation and Southern Trust for funding. Proposed Terry O'Neill, seconded Andrew Bridger (Lion Foundation), Grant Tatham (NZ Community Trust), James Oakely (Century Foundation), Guy Harding (Southern Trust).
