Mt Climie airspace
The CAA is proposing that the configuration of controled airspace above
Mt Climie is being looked at to be lowered from 7500 ft to 5500 ft
on 23 November 2006. This is still 2700 ft above Mt Climie and about
1 NM east of Mt Climie the airspace at 7500 ft remains. The image
below shows the amendments, with the current airspace shown as
broken lines so you can see the difference.
We need to discuss at the club meeting what, if any, response the club makes!

Mr Gillies has advised the club that he would prefer that we did not land on the Mangaroa diary farm.
Western Lake
1. South-eastern launch round the corner just before the Muka Muka River is now out of bounds. The farm manager requests everyone stays off the plateau. There is now a sign erected at the base of the hill warning not to proceed.
2. The airstrip is now operational. From this point on it will be necessary to advise the lodge we intend to fly, and request information of aircraft operations. Contact the manager(s) on 06 307 7581 - Nico or Christy. It is also still necessary to make contact with the farm manager - Dave and Dianne Walsh on 06 307 7570, or 027 248 7430. Yes - two calls.
It is also imperative for obvious reasons that no flights are made east of the stream, east of the immediate launch cliff, into the approach path.
Reserve repacks and WOFs
The Club will be organising reserve repacks and WOFs during August/September. Watch this space!
NZHGPA ANNUAL MEETING
This year being held in Wellington at the Wellington Aero Club rooms: 26th, 27th August.
Kris Ericksen and Andrew Bridger are the club's two delegates.
Leagues
Grant is keen to organise some leagues for HG, what dates that suit locals? Maybe we could have a combined HG/PG event?
