Location: Valley Club

Present: Andrew, Ian, Grant T, Sophie, Kris, Barry, Grant F, Ken, Doug, Thomas, Daizi, Lawry

Meeting started: 7.50 pm

Weather station:

Despite much hard work and searching by Ken, replacement head not available. We have two damaged heads, there is a possibility of making a good one out of those parts. Ken will talk with John A about it.

Complete station replacement could cost $3k, but not sure if compatible with the answering phone.

General discussion around whether or not we need it. Various other weather stations are already in the region. Applying for a grant could be an option.

Phone is costing >$30 a month so if out of action > 3 months we should disconnect.

Dalefield takeoff:

Needs some work. 8am Saturday Feb 4, Barry B to co-ordinate.

Fence getting old, please use gate in corner. Will look at putting style in and stapling fence on sat.

Accounts:

Andrew now secretary so needs signing rights on the Westpac check account. But proposal is to rationalize the accounts by shutting the Westpac (it earns no interest) and setting up an equivalent account alongside our existing Kiwibank account.

Motion: Andrew to shut the Westpac and open an equivalent or better account with Kiwibank.

Site Guide:

Very nice site guide produced by Grant F. General agreement to keep off the web. We don’t want to lose sites.

Hang Gliding Nationals: 14-22nd February, Havelock.

Wairarap PG comp: Got 4 out of 6 days, 8 pilots. Some good flights.

PG WOFs: A few still need to be tidied away.
