Banff Mountain Film Festival
30 April and 2 May
Proszacur won Best Film on Mountain Sports, and is about a 79 year
old Polish paraglider pilot. This will be showing at the Tuesday screening
on 2 May. Tickets will be available from Bivouac, Mountain Designs, and
Mainly Tramping from the 7th April.
Paekakariki Weather Station
The weather station is currently out of action - as the solar panel has been stolen! : (
Second hand one are available on TradeMe. The club will need to discuss replacement options at the next meeting....

Mangaroa Valley
The Upper Hutt City Council has DECLINED the proposed the subdivision in the Mangaroa Valley. The club made a submission on the proposal neither supporting nor opposing it. Information about the Council's decision.
Heliport at Wharekauhau
A heliport is proposed to be constructed at Wharekauhau (near Ocean Beach). The club made a submission to the CAA on the proposal. Information (PDF) about the proposal on the CAA website.

Attitudes, Airmanship and Accidents
The CAA ran and excellent seminar on "Attitudes, Airmanship and
Accidents" at the Wellington Aero Club on Wednesday 15 March.
Four club members attended and Kris won a full sheet of air maps for sitting on the right seat!
