Mt Climie Airspace
Ealier this year the CAA was proposing that the controled airspace above
Mt Climie be lowered from 7500 ft to 5500 ft.  Discussions with CAA have resulted in the proposal being modified so that the lowered airspace only occurs north of the Mangaroa Valley Rd. A map of the airspace, which comes into effect on 23 November 2006 is below.  The previous proposal can be seen in the July newsletter.

Hang gliding WOF
Hang gliding WOF is on  Saturday 7 October 2006 at Kelson School Hall (Map)

Baring Head
The land surrounding the Baring Head Historic Reserve is now under new ownership.  The new owner has indicated that they are willing to allow pilots to access the area.  Kris is obtaining more details.  (Baring Head was one of the first places that hang gliding occurred in the Wellington region.)

The historic reserve is part of East Harbour Regional Park.  Greater Wellington Regional Council called for submissions on the draft management plan, and the club lodged a submission.
